22 Apr New Cycling Festival part of Heritage Days June 18
A new event has been added to the Heritage Days schedule of activities for 2016. The Heritage Days Cycling Festival will be held on Saturday, June 18 beginning at 3 p.m. It will take place at the Pathfinder Services parking lot, 2824 Theatre Avenue.
No Limit Cycling presented by Steppin’ Physical Therapy and Spokesmen Cycling of Huntington are bringing the new bicycle event to Huntington. It is a national level USA Cycling event that will showcase the city of Huntington and present the health benefits of cycling and how cycling can lead to a healthier community and active lifestyle. The festival also includes a Health and Fitness Expo, food truck and more.
The sponsors believe that the Heritage Days Cycling Festival as a USA Cycling event will draw around 200 racers and their families to Huntington. It is a criterium style event, a bicycle race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit. The length of each lap or circuit ranges anywhere from a half mile to a little over a mile.
The races will take place on the Pathfinder Services campus and the northwest business park. There will be six different races held during the event with experience levels ranging from the weekend warrior to the seasoned professional rider.
