16 Apr Huntington County girls invited to join Little Miss, Junior Miss Heritage Days Pageant

Huntington County girls are invited to become contestants for the Little Miss and Junior Miss Heritage Days Pageant to be held Wednesday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at Crestview Middle School. The pageant is open to girls age five to 12, and is part of Huntington’s Heritage Days celebration. Two divisions will be judged including Little Miss Heritage Days for girls, age five to eight, and Junior Miss Heritage Days, age nine to 12. The objective is for girls to learn about stage presence and gain self-confidence. Girls will be taught to model a dress of their choice and answer interview questions on stage. Contestants will be judged on Modeling, Interview and Photogenic qualities. Pictures will be taken at Frederick’s Photography prior to the pageant and there is no purchase required. Registration will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School. The entry fee is $40 and should be brought to registration. Girls may obtain sponsorships from businesses, family members or a combination of both. The cost covers a participation trophy and souvenir t-shirt. Checks are to be made payable to Little Miss Heritage Days Pageant. The evening includes an orientation, picture sign up and a group picture taken for the newspaper. 15 Apr Friday Night Car, Truck, Motorcycle Show June 17 Downtown

A Heritage Days Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will take place on Friday evening, June 17 in downtown Huntington. The show is open to all years, makes and models. Awards will be given for the top 25 vehicles; Best of Show; Best Car, Truck, Motorcycle; Best Paint; Best Engine and Best Interior. Registration is from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and show fun begins at 5 p.m. continuing until 9 p.m. Awards will be given away at 8:30 p.m. DJ “Fast Eddie” Eddie Ferguson will spin the tunes from the 50s and 60s, and entertain adults and kids with fun activities. The Heritage Days steering committee has named Pathfinder Services, Inc. as the 2016 Heritage Days sponsor. Pathfinder has served Huntington County for 50 years in 2016, and is sponsoring Heritage Days as part of the celebration. Huntington’s 53rd Heritage Days will take place Wednesday, June 15 through Sunday, July 19. The theme is Indiana Celebrating 200 Years in honor of the 200th birthday of the state on December 11, 2016. Pathfinder Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit human services organization based in Huntington, where it was founded in 1966. In addition to Huntington County, Pathfinder Services also has office locations in Allen, Marshall, Wabash and Whitley Counties. Pathfinder Services, Inc. envisions a community in which all people are valued and accepted and have control over their own destinies.
